I’m going to get this out of the way as I’m sure you’re sick of hearing this from me. IT’S OVERPRICED!! £16.50 for a mascara that I only like, not love?! *shakes head in disapproval*. I did buy it though so I have only myself to blame. This is a deep burgundy variation on the cult classic BADgal mascara. Cute packaging no?
The brush is huge. My eyes are tiny. This is an awkward combination and I’ve had to clear up rogue mascara smudges on more than one occasion. Despite the websites claims of “Features the same famous BADgal lash formula & voluminous brush for big, BAD lashes!” I don’t find my lashes either big or bad with this on. Observe:
A little lengthened yes but not much in the way of volume. Just the way I like it actually as my dense lashes are prone to clumping. If provides a soft feathery natural look that I rather like. The formula is quite light weight so doesn’t drag down my curl and I’ve had no issues with running mascara though it isn’t a waterproof formula. Despite my attempts to tone down years of dyeing my hair red/ mahogany/ plum there is still a lot of red in it so this reddish mascara combined with the natural finish makes this an incredibly subtle but quite flattering look on me.
Of course my lashes are black so this would be much more in your face on blonde lashes. I’d imagine if you have green eyes this would probably look stunning on you too as it would really make your eyes pop. I do like this a lot but not enough to buy another tube at that price. I have a tube of Collection 2000 coloured mascara in my ‘to try’ box and if the formula is anywhere near as good I’ll be thrilled at that is only a couple of quid.
So yes it’s another good product from Benefit that I won’t repurchase simply because the price is too high. I’d pay it for a mascara that I LOVE, not one I only like. Xx
