Sleek Scandalous Blush

Ever since the first photos of the Sleek Valentines collection appeared online I could not make my mind up as to whether or not I was going to buy this. It looks terrifying in the pan and I kept telling myself there was no way I would be able to carry it off on my pale skin. I bought it about 2 hours ago and have already applied it. I wanted to get this review up ASAP (even though I can’t yet comment on longevity etc) as it is ltd edition and will be gone very soon! I caved for two reasons; firstly it is unique in my collection and secondly I’ve been curious about NARS Exhibit A for years and this is certainly a much cheaper option (and allegedly a perfect dupe).

The flash makes the colour in the pan appear almost blue toned. In real life there really isn’t any blue in it. It’s a tomato red which doesn’t pull cool or warm. The swatch pics are with flash first and then without. Mad isn’t it!

Clearly it would be very easy to achieve Ronald MacDonalds signature look with this so I picked up my MAC 188 duofibre blush in the hope of picking up a tiny amount of product. I LOVE IT. I have neutral undertones and am between a MAC 15-20. This should look awful on me but it looks fab! Don’t get me wrong, I can see this looking better with a bit of faux tan but even in my current Casper like state it looks great. It is very pigmented so use with caution but it blends very nicely. MAC Bite of an Apple is in the same red family (but much more pink/ coral) but I cannot get it to blend nicely on me at all. This is infinitely better to me.

If you’ve thought about trying Exhibit A but don’t want to spend £20.50 for 4.5g of blush that you’re not sure will work for you then Scandalous is a must have. It’s £4.29 for a whopping 8g and better yet the girl at Superdrug only charged me £3.99 :-D I think it was a till error or something. I’m thrilled that I finally bit the bullet and picked this up! X
