Origins Zero Oil Matte Finish For Shiny Places

I’m moaned before about my struggle with the Nose of Doom. My skin is normal-dry except for my nose. There is a bidding war going on between the major oil companies for my nose. I typically have my makeup on for work by 6:30ish and normally have to blot and powder by 9:00 and every couple of hours thereafter. I use oil control primers on my nose (and often a different one on the rest of my face... what? That’s not normal is it). I found the H20+ matte gel didn’t stop me getting shiny though it did help stop the oil breaking down my foundation and lifting it away. 

This bottle is teeny tiny with just 18ml of product though I will say I’ve been trialling it pretty thoroughly and I have hardly made a dent in the bottle. It costs £11.23 which isn’t too bad methinks. There is a watery kind of liquid with a sort of powdery substance settled in the bottom of the bottle so you need to give it a very enthusiastic shake to mix it before you use it. I just slap it on after moisturiser but before makeup (you can use it under or over makeup) and let it set for 30 seconds before applying my slap. 

It does leave you with an instant matte finish that feels smooth and dry rather than tacky. And amazingly I have noticed a tangible difference. For the last week I’ve been keeping a note of what time I’ve been reaching for the blotting sheets and powder and I’ve not had to use them until 10:30 – 11:00 This might not sound much to you but to me it’s a massive difference. It kind of has the opposite effect to the H20+ gel in that it doesn’t stop my foundation breaking up when I inevitably do become oily but it prevents the oil occurring much better. Therefore I use the two together and it really is extending the wear of my foundation. 

For me it’s a definite repurchase. I don’t think there is a product out there that will stop my nose from eating my foundation and looking like I’ve been bobbing for apples in olive oil by the end of the day but every little helps. Love it! X
