Another attempt at stemming the makeup tide...
I thought about doing project ten pan as invented by Lollipop26 on Youtube but I’m more interested in making sure I use everything I have rather than concentrating on using up ten items. I have done an inventory of all my makeup using a spreadsheet. I should point out that I listed every item individually so if, for example, an eyeshadow palette has twelve shadows in it each shadow is listed individually. And the plan is... drum roll please... I can’t buy any makeup until everything on the list has been used at least once.
Doesn’t sound too bad does it? Well it did when I realised I had 304 eyeshadow colours. Some days I wear a complicated look with lots of colours but at least a couple of times a week all I have the energy to do is a wash of one colour. At the very least it will encourage me to be more creative in order to use as many colours as I can and to use some colours I may have been neglecting.
There are a fair few collections I want coming out this Autumn / Winter so I’m hoping this won’t take me too long to do. However I know once I’ve done this I’ll feel a lot less guilty about buying new things knowing I’ve actually put to good use everything I already have. It’s also a fantastic opportunity to get rid of stuff you don’t like. If the thought of being forced to wear something in your collection fills you with dread then simply throw/ sell/ give it away.
I doubt this will impact my blogging as I have a lot of stuff to review that I haven’t written about yet. If any of you think you’ve been neglecting some of your stash then join me on this makeup journey! A little moral support goes a long way Lets make sure we get our monies worth rather than throwing our hard earned cash away on stuff we don’t really use. All we need now is a catchy name for it... suggestions? xxx
