My lips get very dry suddenly and without warning at various times of the year; summer, winter, rain, wind, shine. There is no form or reason for this change, it just happens, I wake up to bitty lips which no amount of cosmetic lipbalm can cure.
I read about Bepathen first in a review with Rebecca Morrice Williams by Cultbeauty, I am slightly obsessed with RMW, she is the creator of BECCA cosmetics which is my favourite makeup brand ergo anything she recommends is on my list to try.
Further investigation dug up some favourable reviews on MUA.
The ingredients are pretty benign as one would expect from this sort of product.
What I like is that there is no discernible taste or smell, it has a presence on the lips in that it doesn't sink in immediately, nor does it sit on the lips leaving a waxy/oily coating, and those pesky little bitty bits are gone, straight away, no stinging, just smooth soothed lips almost instantly.
It is quite thick, but not as thick as say vaseline, and a little does go a long way. It can look a bit white on the lips initially but it sheers out, and it does not need constant reapplication.
It is pretty good on cuticles too and all those nicks and bashes that I seem to get on my hands from ironing/oven burns.
It is cheap and easily available currently £2.65 from Boots.
