GOSH Let’s Twist Eyeliner in Blue Grass

I’m a huge fan of the normal GOSH Pencil liners so I thought I should probably try the twist up version too. These are quite inexpensive at £5.70 each and come in a whole range of funky colours. As they twist up you negate the need for a sharpener and the site proclaims that they are waterproof. This is important to me as I use pencil liners exclusively on the water line or smudged under the lower lash line and I would rather not have them running half way down my face by the end of the day.

The colour Blue Grass is a shimmery teal which leans more blue than green. Although it benefits from being warmed up on the back of your hand for a few seconds it transfers easily onto the waterline. Once it’s on it stays put. I get at least 6 hours wear out of it which is pretty damn impressive.

I find that the GOSH liners are at least as good as the more expensive Urban Decay 24/7 liners and the colour range is just as wide. I’m eyeing up the colour Hot Flamingo (bright pink) already! X

GOSH Effect Powder in Kiss

Trawling the aisles at Superdrug recently I spotted a box of sealed, brand new GOSH pigments in Kiss for a mere £1. I’m assuming this was a mistake as when I went back a week later they were back up to £5.50. Good job I picked one up when I did then!

It’s a little glass pot, same size as a Barry M Dazzle Dust, containing a rather lovely shimmery lilac pigment. It adheres well to the skin but works best with a sticky base. This will not fade throughout the day on me and I love the way it catches the light.

Hmm... not really sure what else to say about this. It’s a pigment. It’s by GOSH. It’s lilac coloured. I like it! I’m not sure I’d pay the full price simply because I find loose shadows a pain to use as I’m a bit of a mucky pup but I’ll be keeping my eyes open for any on offer. Hope you’re all having a fab weekend! xxx

DIY China Glaze Fortune Teller

Firstly I’d like to say sorry to those who are sick of me waffling on about polish, I promise my next few posts will be about actual makeup. I’ve just been on a bit of a polish kick lately as I’m still trying to grow my nails so I have to paint them every two days to stop me chewing. Yes I am disgusting and bite my nails. I never claimed to be ladylike.

I have been craving Fortune Teller since it came out but was never able to get my grubby little mitts on a bottle. If you haven’t seen it, or haven’t seen it matte Google Scrangie China Glaze (I covet her nails!) I read somewhere that you could use Gosh Rainbow flakies to create a dupe. I don’t remember where I saw this so if it was your blog sorry! Just comment below and I will edit the post to give you full credit for the idea. So here is my attempt using a random black polish (think it was Collection 2000), Gosh Rainbow and Essie Matte About You. I show it here without the matte top coat first then in all its mattified lusciousness.

Now I don’t have the actual fortune Teller to compare it to but from the photos I’d say that’s a pretty darn good dupe! Rainbow does flash iridescent yellow in certain lights, I don’t know if FT does that but I like it anyway. The matte top coat takes a special looking mani to new ethereal looking heights. Come Autumn I will probably be wearing this combo ever day. In fact I’m considering buying another bottle of Rainbow just in case I run out. Is that weird? I know some of you fellow polish junkies out there will understand.

So anyone out there have the actual Fortune Teller? How does this combination compare? I think I probably put a touch too much glitter on and I *think* the chunks are bigger here. Thoughts? Comments? Opinions?

*P.S. I just wanted to quickly say thanks to everyone following my blog. It really means a lot to me! I’ve almost hit 30 :-D As I’ve said when I hit 50 I will be doing a giveaway so fingers crossed we get there soon so we can have some giveaway fun xxx

GOSH Velvet Touch Eyeliner Pencils

I bet you’ll never have been able to guess this from the blog title but I’m a big eyeliner fiend. I picked up these from a blog sale recently for £2 each but they normally sell for £4.99. Here we have (from top to bottom) Golden Moss (metallic olive), Funky Violet (burgundy with no shimmer), Purple Stain (violet purple with blue flash), Denim Blue (shimmery blue) and Metallic Brass (black with orange sparkles).  The swatches are in the same order but left to right for some reason...

As you can see the pigmentation is fab. They glide on smoothly and because they set they stay put. I find the lasting power to be on a par with Urban Decay 24/7 liners although the GOSH ones take a couple more swipes on the waterline to get full colour.

It’s lovely to see a high street brand with some really high quality liners in such interesting colours. I’ve bought these at full price before and I have no doubt I’ll be picking up some other colours in future. Love them! X
