Duo Lash Adhesive

Having run out of my Revlon lash glue I decided to replace it with the Duo one when I last visited MAC. This costs £10 but you get a huge amount (14g) and as I see it constantly being used by the fabulous Pixiwoo girls I knew it would be good. 

The glue is thick and white but dries clear. The squeezy tube is great because it allows you to squeeze out just enough without wasting any product. It sticks really well and I have no problems with lashes going walkies before the end of the night. 

There is one problem though and to be fair it is my fault not theirs. One of the main ingredients in this is latex. I am allergic to latex... I can use it just if I make sure I don’t get any on my skin but it’s a pain and I certainly wouldn’t recommend any one else with a latex allergy using it. To be honest I’m not happy risking it so I will probably give it away. It is a fab product, just a shame my skin can’t cope with it!

KKCentreHK Lashes

I was sent two more styles of the cheap but very cheerful falsies from KKCentreHK to try out. I’ll start out with my favourites. These are the LLS Brand Cross 7 Natural Lengthening Eyelashes which cost $12.50USD for 10 pairs. The only issue I had with the last lot I reviewed was the thick clear band which I found a little difficult and heavy. These are on a black thread and are honestly the lightest lashes I have ever worn. They are VERY comfortable on. The lashes themselves are quite fine but long. I don’t need to trim these down much on my small eyes though you do need to snip the ends of the thread off.

The second style I received are LLS Brand A2 Dense Before Short, The Back Long Eyelashes which again are $12.50 USD for ten pairs. These are fuller and as a result slightly heavier though still much lighter to wear than most lashes I’ve tried. The band is very clear but thin with the lashes in small clusters at the base. Now I slightly over trimmed these and as always struggled to apply them to my left eye properly so please excuse the shoddy application. The tapered style with short lashes at the inner corner and longer at the outer edges usually suits me quite well but I think these might be a bit full on for me personally.

Now I genuinely like these (and no I’m not saying that because I was sent them, I really do). If you’re careful with them you will get a good couple of wears out of them and for a clumsy muppet like me I’m much happier spending $12.50 for ten pairs so it doesn’t matter if I muck them up than the same price for one pair of branded lashes. KKcentreHK Lashes A24 Review

I’m getting there with lash application. Gone are the days of accidentally gluing lids shut and other shenanigans. That said I still don’t want to pay a fortune for my lashes because I do muck up on occasion and inevitably leave my lashes stuck to a table in a Glasgow pub when I get sick of them at 2 in the morning (I don’t do this often... honest). Therefore I buy cheap lashes in bulk, usually from eBay. When I was offered the chance to try some lashes from bargain lash website KKcentreHK I jumped at the chance. Here we have style A24. They are criss-crossed with a clear band. 

A box of 10 pairs will set you back $5.40 and I have been able to reuse the pair I’ve been road testing 3 times so for an occasionally lash user like me these will last a long time. The first thing I noticed is the size. I have teeny tiny eyes and usually need to cut lashes down a lot. These didn’t need trimming too much so they may be on the shorter side. For me this is a good thing as they don’t look huge and overly fake on my eyes. In fact I dare say they look quite natural. The band is pliable and moulds easily to the shape of my lid.

The only thing I’m not %100 on is the clear band. It’s quite thick and can stand out from any dark eyeliner. When making any future orders (which I will be, those feather lashes on the site are coming home to Mama) I’d order styles with a black band. The thick band makes them feel a little heavy on the eye but I don’t find it intolerable. They aren’t the heaviest lashes I’ve ever worn but they aren’t the most lightweight either. 

I do feel these are good quality for the price and I’ll certainly use this box up happily. The selection on the site is impressive and I’m sure I’ll be able to find a similar style with the black band that I prefer. Are they on a par with, for example, Shu Uemura lashes? Don’t know actually as I’ve never tried them. But they do the job nicely and I’m very happy with them.
