Nails Inc Porchester Square

This is a putty shade, more of a pale pinky grey than a pinky brown. I do not always have success with Nails Inc, I love the colours but find that the wide cylindrical brush lid can be a bit cumbersome - the brush seems a long way from the fingers I am controlling it with.

So saying I do like this shade.

This is 2 coats (after a base coat and before a top coat). I almost stopped at 1 coat which gave a rather flattering chiffon fleshy coat, maybe next time.

This is a shade that often sells out but is available at ASOS currently £11, and QVC do a duo but again it does sell out.

Leighton Denny Gelato, Lolly Pop, Do Me a Flavour, Berry Nice

The Gelato range from Leighton Denny was new for spring 2011 and they are meant to represent juicy sorbet type colours. I am not sure if the texture is meant to be different but to me these apply like LD varnishes and border on a cream consistency, maybe a tad thinner. Base coat, 2 coats of colour and a top coat (which is what I usually do) gives a good depth of colour.

Lolly Pop

This is such a pretty pink - it is warmer than my picture shows, almost a hint of salmon/orange and different from the pinks I have which tend to be more of a hot pink or a bubblegum pink.

Do Me a Flavour

This is a great bright sunny orange so apologies for the photo - think more sunny d/kiora than coral which this photo seems to suggest.

Berry Nice

To me this is almost a magenta pink. Really good coverage with this one and although I have used 2 coats here, I could have used 1 and got away with it.

I bought this kit from QVC - I like the boxes that come with LD on QVC which are great quality and very robust.

Leighton Denny Inkjet

I love this colour so much.

It is hard to capture its inkyness - it really is like going back in time for me and going down to the headmaster's office in primary school to be given, yes given for free an ink pen because my writing was now sufficiently neat to gain promotion to the dizzy heights of writing in ink as opposed to pencil - cue blue fingered stains as I tried to fill up the cartridge.

Now my nails are not quite there yet to do this justice, so this is a photo from my archives - my nails back in January 2011

I love it.

Next Oh So..Nails in Biscuit

I had no idea that Next did anything other than clothes, so what a suprise when this appeared free and gratis with a monthly magazine subscription.

I am a bit of a sucker for a nude nail, and this seems to happily straddle the too dark Leighton Denny Supermodel and the too brown Nails Inc Jermyn Street (cue sudden lightbulb moment where I decide to to a comparison post on all three).

My nails are extremely short at the moment and the cuticles leave a lot to be desired but I don't care because this is a lovely colour - it is a warmish neutral, the brush is quite narrow but it applies well with no streaking. I would buy this again, but there is not a huge amount of information available on this range. There is a little on the Next website here.

OPI Happy Anniversary

I don't own this and I am gutted because it is just enough gleam and glitter to say "I am in a happy mood" but not too much to scream "whhooo, look at me...oh no I have to remove it and don't have any tin foil in the house" See here if you don't know what the 'ecky peck I am going on about.

Lovely apart from the nick that is on my little finger - grrrr
