Hair Loss Treatments - Part Two

[Here’s my answer to Nathalie’s hair loss question .]

Hi Nathalie.

Vitamin B Supplements

Vitamin B supplements are sometimes prescribed for hair loss. In fact, Phytophanere Hair Loss Supplement is chock full of B Vitamins as well as Biotin and some other ingredients which have shown promise for the treatment of hair loss, especially Y-Orizanol, Y-Linolenic Acid, Eicosapentaenoic Acid and Docosahexaenoic Acid.

Topical Vitamin B

Topical Vitamin B3 (Niacin) has been shown to increase ceramide and free fatty acid levels in skin which helps skin retain moisture and stimulates microcirculation (The British Journal of Dermatology September 2000 and The Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology April 2004). All these effects could contribute to smoother, healthier looking skin. The increased microcirculation might be helpful to failing hair follicles.

Your Kerastase Products

You’ve had success with Kerastase Bain Specifique, as have others of my readers, so please stick with that.

L’Oreal does not market its Kerastase Resistance line for thinning hair but rather to strengthen and give volume to fine hair. This would make whatever hair you have appear thicker.
