Foodie Bloggers Roundup #4

Jean just read a WebMD update on wild-caught vs. farmed salmon. In addition to the contaminants we’ve long known about in farm-bred salmon, author David Dobbs reported that lice-infested farm-bred salmon are escaping their pens; interbreeding with wild Atlantic salmon; sharing their lice and; wiping out entire native runs of Atlantic pink salmon (see the journal Science, December 2007).

Don’t let that scare you away from one of the tastiest, most healthful fish available. Just be sure to get wild - preferrably wild-caught Pacific salmon!

Here’s a delicious recipe for Jean’s Salmon, Peppers and Onions. It’s rich in Omega 3s and antioxidants and contains some powerful fat-fighting ingredients.
