Bhutan: Royal Wedding

King Wangchuck (31), the "Dragon King", married his fiancee, Queen Jetsun Pema (21) this past week, kicking off a three day celebration in the tiny Kingdom of Bhutan, in the Himalayas.

The ceremony took place at a Himalayan monastic fortress. The King and his Queen were married in a traditional spiritual Buddhist ceromony, and were dressed in traditional attire. The Queens crown is made of heavly embroidered silk brocade. Five blessed scarves have been placed around her neck.

The bride on her way to the monasty, wearing her traditional wedding dress and jewelery. It is worth noting that while Queen Jetsun is wearing traditional attire, her engagement ring and wedding band are of the "new world" kind! (See image #1)

The tiny Kingdom of Bhutan is located in the Himalayas, between China and India. The Dragon King is a constitutional monarch, and the people of Bhutan has an elected government.

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, and her future husband Daniel, the evening before their wedding day! How happy and just plain gorgeous does she look?

The making of a Princess

There is something so glamorous about a bride, with a veil over her face, never mind the beautiful 1936 Cartier tiara on her head.... This tiara belong to Queen Elizabeth, and looks absolutely stunning on Kate! The diamond drop earrings were a gift from her family on her wedding day.

UPDATE: I have come to find out that the diamond drop in the earring, is actually shaped as an Acorn. The new Middleton symbol from their crest.

The first full view of The Dress, designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. Beautiful Chantilly lace, trademark small waist and and eight foot train. Very sleek, modern and NOT over the top, I like it very much!

Not only am I excited to see The Dress...
But also the florals, the guests, the fashion and the jewels.
