Did you get flowers today?

White Poinsettias make such a lush and pretty arrangement in a simple glass vase! I'm so over the red potted version...... sorry ;)

Nineth Holiday Post.

Soothing color and beautiful textures......

Winter landscape + white Christmas tree + huge mirror = lots of light! Love how the soft blues and greens of the living room is echoed in the Christmas tree decoration....

.... even the antlers have been decorated ;)

Happy - last minute - decorating! It's not too late!!

Just a pretty picture!

...The dinner party was a success!

I was the happy recipient of two beautiful Christmas tree ornaments, hand painted in white and silver, with a little glitter.... SO, so pretty!!

Adoring Color

OK, so I am a little off course, as to what I had planned for this week, BUT I needed a little color in my life and it came via Adore Home Magazine.....

Come on in.... This Hampton Style house is beautifully photographed, and has a "Scandinavian aura" about it, I am sure you will enjoy what you see.... I particularly loved all the white, with the strong pops of color!!

In this story, you are transported to Kuala Lumpur, and a beautifully accessorized white home, inspired by all the design blogs out there...

So go ahead, head on over and take a peek for your self!!

Have a happy and colorful day :)

I never thought...

... I would actually say this.....

This is the prettiest cow I have ever seen :)!!

I don't recall how I stumbled upon this image, but it's been in my "white" file for a while. The image is taken in a child's room, and the butterfly mobile is most likely what caught my attention to start with. I wonder who drew this? But in a day where everything is mass produced, it's refreshing to see something so simple and pretty.... and delicate ;) (Really, did I just say that? Can a cow be delicate...??)

Have fun today!!

TGIF!!

Oh my.... It's been a hectic week, looking forward to spending a Saturday morning relaxing with a hot cup of tea!!

Wouldn't this be the perfect spot to start your day??
Any plans for your weekend? I'll be prepping for Thanksgiving (bringing a dish to a friends house) and for a small dinner for some friends on Sunday :).... can't wait to set the table!

Happy Monday!

Hi All, Thank You for all the well wishes and congrats on my wedding anniversary, very much appreciated!!

Isn't this a great way to display an old, beautiful platter? Who needs turkey?? :)

Too Pretty!

I was just introduced to this FAN.TAS.TIC home by Helena, and just had to go take a peek for myself here... Please join me in drooling over this apartment, I am blown away by it's beauty, high ceilings and period detailing!! JUST Gorgeous!!!!

Beautiful old building in Sweden...

Besides the high ceilings, the traditional fireplace, the light filled room, the beautiful doors and the stucco..... notice how the items in the book case have been arranged from light to dark ;)

SO pretty!!!!!! I want one..... Love the white on white.

Beautiful ceilings with rose medallion stucco.

Oh yeah, you could find me here, reading a wonderful interior design book!

But really.... I would probably spend a lot of time lounging here, just enjoying the view through the apartment...

Notice the moulding and the panel work... FAN.TAS.TIC!!!!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Setting the table

Lately my eyes have been drawn to table top settings.....
Perhaps the upcoming holiday season, who knows.

I thought I would continue yesterdays yellow trend, as this is a new holiday color for me! These pretty salad plates and bowls can be found here.

Do you set the holiday table the same each year? Do you mix it up? How about color? Do tell!!!

Decorator to the Stars

Meet Hernan Arriaga, Argentinian-born decorator with an impressive roster of clients, and beautiful rooms to back it up with!!

 ...going to the Caribbean soon?
Check out his new home shop, Azul Mar, on the island of Santo Domingo, in the Dominican Republic!

You will find an amazing collection of antiques and artifacts from all over the world!

This petrified wood stool is from Iran.... If you are "in the area" the store (Avenue Abraham Lincoln No. 1000) is a must see, but if you are only able to visit virtually (like me), please do so here.

Love the pop of color of the flowers, but how about that sculpture to the left.... Very cool!

Notice the Antler chandelier in the foreground, along with the very subtle white on white wallpaper.... typically not two things you would put together in the same room, but it totally works here!!!

Hope you enjoyed this little introduction!
I encourage you to view Hernan Arriaga's website, lots of beautiful interiors to drool over!

Have a wonderful start to your week!!!

All images here. (PS. the music is hilarious :)

Just a pretty picture!

Love the warmth of the wood floor, in this predominantly cool space.....

Happy Monday!

If I was lucky enough to have this attic space, I don't think you would see me for days! (PS. the desk is from Ikea)
OK, snap out of the day dreaming.... but what is life if we don't have a(n interior design) dream?

Peaceful Monday

Truthfully... I could have stayed in bed today!

And had my bedroom been this light and dreamy, well, then it would have been even harder to resist :) Notice all the different textures! An all white room need not be boring, and white is not just one shade, but you knew that, right?

Keeping your clothes out on display could be a good idea, but it does require a certain restraint and organization!! I can tell you this from experience.... my clothes rack looks nothing like this.

I have always been a sucker for a checkerboard kitchen floor, and this is no exception!
In fact, I think I like it even more in this color way, very soft!

Nothing really matches, and that's part of the charm, I think....
Tolix chairs are an all time favorite, I would love to own a few!

The only spot in the house with a pop of "real" color. So easy to change the pillow covers and other accessories, depending on mood and season. Did you notice the subtle wallpaper? White on white done right!!

Hope you have a lovely week ahead of you!

Front Page News

Danish jewelery Designer Charlotte Lynggaards enviable home has made the IndsideOut cover.

A few months back I wrote a post called Moonbeams and diamonds, introducing and exceptional piece of jewelery designed by Charlotte, if you didn't read the post then, I urge you to at least look at the fantastic images!!

How wonderful is this view over Oeresund? I bet the natural light is wonderful at all times of the year.

Wonderful use of an old chair, perhaps an heirloom... have a new cushion made up!

Through the french doors is the living room; A piano, a gorgeous view, lots of natural light, and the typical blond wood floors, what more can you ask for?

Placed just inside the double doors, an Asian console table in dark brown (almost black) lacquer, with a carved wood koi fish sculpture, a few Asian inspired artifacts, and a simple flower display.

Between the living space (above) and the kitchen (below) is an office space, complete with a black leather Arne Jacobsen Egg chair. The transition between the two parts of the house, new and old, is done very seamlessly with a few stairs....

... and saving the best for last! What a kitchen!!

Charlotte Lynggaard, danish jewelry designer.

While looking for images for this post, I came across this image, of the same kitchen space, just styled differently. It's so interesting to see, at least I think so, how a space can transform, just by styling it differently! The image above looks "lived in", and as beautiful as the other images are, they were clearly done for the sake of the photo shot..... just thinking out loud ;)

A casual Charlotte Lynggaard at her desk, ready to design her next piece of jewelery! Check out the pretty chair and the fresh cut garden roses, inspiration is everywhere!

Hope you enjoyed this little house tour!!
