Happy Monday!

While many people all over the world are enjoying the few extra days off after Christmas, I am back at work.... but it's OK :) !

Please stay warm, especially if you are snowed in, as so many of you are this time around!
It's super cold even in Florida, if that's any consolation??

Watercolor

Came across these cute watercolors by Kat Macleod today...
I see them with a white mat and a simple modern white frame. Wouldn't they be cute in a girls room or even part of an art wall, a la Anna Spiro?

How would you hang these? How about just leaning one against a wall, perhaps behind a lamp by the night stand??  Any ideas?

On the twelfth day of Christmas...

On the twelfth day of Christmas, I want to say Thank You to all that have stopped by, to all that have left a comment, to all that have taken the time to follow... and to all of you who read from a far!

Have a very Merry Christmas!

Image unknown, sorry....

...The dinner party was a success!

I was the happy recipient of two beautiful Christmas tree ornaments, hand painted in white and silver, with a little glitter.... SO, so pretty!!

Third Holiday Post (one for the kids)

.... I better speed it up, as there are twelve days of Christmas, right??
This post will be for the kids, or the kid in all of us, come take a peek!

....now, I for one, have not seen one of these little friends on a Christmas tree before, you? He's kind of cute, huh?
And he has a brother, scroll down to meet him :)

The final product, prominently placed in the Children's playroom, how fun!! Wondering - out loud - how long the tree lasts looking this good???

SO pretty and festive! If you would like a little guide on how to put together something like this for your kids, head on over here!

What do you think? Amazing or too much?
I think it's fun and innovative!!

Second Holiday Post.

I guess I am on a Non-Traditional-Christmas-Color-Kick......
I am totally over the red and green thing going on, and totally in love with the pinks (no big surprise for those who know me!) as well as the citrus colors!! Just look how it lends a punch of color to an otherwise beautiful and cool pallet.

And here is a REALLY super cute idea for the holiday table!! Use left over ribbon for the "ties" and use what ever card stock you have laying around.... and if you do not have card stock, head to the paint supply store, pick up some paint chips, cut them into shape, and voila!! If you don't want to use the exact same color place cards, try picking up a bunch in similar colors, as above, it makes the table scape a little more interesting!!

Have a great week everyone!!

Today was the most beautiful, sunny & low humidity day in a long while!!! No way I was doing any indoor holiday shopping... just took a long drive.

I did, however, catch this cheery holiday window display...

Adoring Color

OK, so I am a little off course, as to what I had planned for this week, BUT I needed a little color in my life and it came via Adore Home Magazine.....

Come on in.... This Hampton Style house is beautifully photographed, and has a "Scandinavian aura" about it, I am sure you will enjoy what you see.... I particularly loved all the white, with the strong pops of color!!

In this story, you are transported to Kuala Lumpur, and a beautifully accessorized white home, inspired by all the design blogs out there...

So go ahead, head on over and take a peek for your self!!

Have a happy and colorful day :)

I tried...

... I really did!!!

I painted my toe nails dark, I pulled out the dark clothes, but it's still 70+ degrees in Florida.... SO, I went back to the hot pink pedicure, and I'm so happy I did :)

Found these three girls over at the Lilly Blog, they looked so happy and ready for a holiday party, I just could not leave them out!

That's all for today, I'll be working while everyone else is shopping!!!

No purchase necessary...

... haven't we all heard that line a thousand times??

Well, it's true!! You do not need to spend money to have the luxury of cut flowers, just keep your eyes open (and keep a garden scissor with you at all times, we all do that, right? ;)  ), and these beauties could end up on your nightstand....

How fresh and pretty are these Hibiscus?
Love how the duster in the pink Hibiscus, picks up the orange in the other... We only need to look to nature for the perfect color combo!

I am not entirely sure what kind of flower this is (Please do let me know the name if you know), but Anna Sprio stopped at the road side in Australia and did a little cutting herself.....

Starting THE LIST...

I know, I know, it's almost too early to start The List, don't you think?
I just could not help myself when I heard that this book just hit the stores.....

The cover is so cute, and made me think of a mood board right away.... and don't we all LOVE to look at other peoples inspirations?

I admit to loving this shot, originally used for a Kate Spade ad....

OK, so where's the party? Did I miss anything?? LOVE pink peonies and confetti!

... and as we all know; Every girl MUST have a little sparkle!!

I can just imagine having one of those days, and just looking through this book will transport you away to a happy place! I am sure of it!! Putting it on my list :)

Did you start your list?

Color splash

Since I went very neutral yesterday, how a bout a little splash of Suzani color today?

LOVE the idea of framing the beautiful fabrics.....

And if you would like a little color in the bathroom, here is a new towel version. Thinking about purchasing one of these for your home? Check out the Table Tonic store, lots of goodies to choose from!

Have a bright and colorful day,

You can meet Louise, Belinda, Vanessa, Tina and Kimberlee and to be able to see how the stars of the blog world live, well, lets just say I always find it fascinating to have "a look behind the scenes"...

The master of beautiful, colorful and cheerful table top displays, Anna, weigh in with an article on "The art of Arranging", supported by some gorgeous images, take a peek ;)!

Hope you had a great weekend!!

Black with a touch of Pink

I am kinda liking this patten leather skirt! Love the style of the skirt, the "not too strappy" heels and the touch of pink to soften up all the black...

... and how about an interior interpretation of that outfit? How did I do??
I think those glossy, faceted black subway tiles are totally cool.... however, you might be cleaning forever, as every single little drop of water would show, and that would drive me crazy!

Perhaps in a powder room? Too much?
What do you think?

Loving Dahalias

Just a pretty picture today!

While visiting with my sister, we had planned a shopping day (more on that later), when she spotted this fantastic display of fall color! The many bouquets of flowers were displayed in bright red buckets* and the entire display unit was full, making for a huge burst of color.

I just had to snap an image and share with you!

Basket Case!

I was thinking that if you were traveling this summer, perhaps you could pick up some of these fun, ethnic baskets and hang them as wall decor upon your return? The texture and the colors are pretty and soft, and it's a slightly different look than the typical art wall, I feel we have seen that so many times by now...

Look how great a few different plates and bowls look on a colorful wall; common denominator being the circles, colors and patterns.

I imagine the baskets in the first image would also look great in a summerhouse setting, where things are not so precious... I would ad to the "art installation" from time to time, perhaps even change up the color selection... Or one could go completely neutral in color to warm up a white wall!

What do you think? Did I make a case for (or against) baskets :)
