Cafe au lait?

How about this collection of Cafe Au Lait Bows? How fantastic!! I know someone - Hi P - who also likes vintage bowls like these, though the collection is not this extensive.... yet!
This image makes me so happy!! The wonderfully colored bowls, in order by color, the yellow shade, fun carpet and bright yellow Tolix stool, tons of good light in the kitchen, what more could you ask for?  .... oh, perhaps someone to make the Cafe au lait??  ;)

Probably many of you have seen this image before, BUT I felt a need to share it again (not that I have re-posted an image here on NL, God forbid!!)....

Have a cup of cafe au lait today, I'm drinking mine "as we speak".

Setting the table

Lately my eyes have been drawn to table top settings.....
Perhaps the upcoming holiday season, who knows.

I thought I would continue yesterdays yellow trend, as this is a new holiday color for me! These pretty salad plates and bowls can be found here.

Do you set the holiday table the same each year? Do you mix it up? How about color? Do tell!!!

OK, so how cute is this little elephant, dutifully carrying his load of pretty flowers across the mantle piece?

Hope your start to the week is going well!
I have started the countdown to my vacation..... 5 days to go :)

Impossible task!

Sitting here, wanting to write a new post, and all of a sudden I am drawing a blank....
Has that happened to you? I have an on going list of subjects I want to write about; new ones are added, sometimes daily, other times not for days..... and then it hits me... how in the world do I top the image below? The colors are so vibrant and beautiful!! (scroll down)

Reading blogs from all over the world, gets the inspirational juices flowing, and I simply write a word or feeling down, then I return to my list from time to time and adjust as I go...... Do you keep a list?     I try for the most part to stay true to the season, but sometimes I find that difficult.

Please share how you keep track of your posts? Do you spend a lot of time on research? Or do you not take blogging that serious? Is blogging supposed to be serious or fun? Or both? Are there any rules?

I spy....

Yellow!

It's been a while since I have done an "I spy..." post, so today it's about yellow! This is just a small, random collection, of yellow inspired images, they are as pretty as the are cheerful, don't you think?

I really like the bow detail on the dress....

... and the bride wore yellow shoes as well, how fun!!

PRETTY!!

And who better than Snippet & Ink to tie it all together for us!

Have a refreshing day!

Floral Shops

One of the stops I always do when traveling, be it in the US (Boston has great floral shops) or somewhere in Europe, is stopping at all the floral shops! I know it drives my relatives crazy; from time to time I even ask shop keepers if I can photograph in the store, and I know my sister (Hi Gugge!) gets embarrassed..... sorry!

But why let such beauty go un-noticed?

Lately I have been picking up roses in orange, but I have always loved the pink ones, and the white and cream ones, and.....

Look at all these beautiful shades of pink, how can you go wrong? Does it not just screem PARTY?
I would so love to have a reason to pick up this many roses at one time, but I am affraid in my little house it would be total overkill..........

And what about the drama here... all those tall black vases lets you concentrate on the beautiful blooms... which flower to pick?

I am not discriminating when it comes to flowers, even just one flower in a small bud vase makes my day!!
When in season, I tend to pick up hydrengas, but for everyday, I usually have a few orchids around the house. Not only is that the only plant my cats will not either dig up, or take bites of. And it seem to be the only "flavor" I don't kill right away! Actually.... They grow very happily here, and re-bloom often :)
What is your go-to flower? What do you often come home with from the market? Or if you have your own cutting garden, what do you grow? Do tell!!

Weekend perfection!

Any plans this weekend?
I am in a serious need of a cleaning up and making pretty weekend... but I will be working Saturday, so that leaves Sunday for fun and games :)

If I had a wonderful, bright and light filled kitchen like this, then I think I would be hanging out here, what about you? Not ofthen does one see a dutch door, not around here at least, I really like how it's almost like opening up a window!! This little banquet is designed by Kathryn M. Ireland, using her own fabrics. Great mixture of sunny yellow, stripes, florals and good thinking with the denim on the bench cover!!

What a happy place to start the day!
Happy Weekend to you all :)

Happy 1st of July!

A little sunshine coming your way!
Check out this absolutely beautiful orchid. It is growing on a palm tree a few doors down from my house. Every so often two, or three, of these gorgeous blooms greet me, I just had to snap an image and share with all of you!

Can you believe it's already July..... WOW!

Napkin folding 101

The Easter bunny has a place at the table this year, I think...

If you celebrate the Easter holiday, here is a cute little DIY napkin-folding-tip, that I just think it's the cutest! Below you can find the instructions, have fun setting the table!!

I am also including this cute idea for color, but truthfully, I think this might be too time consuming... Who really has the time to make sure that egg stays put, and that the cute gingham ribbon bow is tied perfectly? You know I would be there tying the bows over and over and over..... NOPE, not this time! :)

Have a fun time folding the napkins for your Holiday table!

Happy Thursday!

Continuing where I left off yesterday (color wise), just sharing a wonderful porch!
However, if this cheery yellow is not your thing, it would be so easy to change the feel of the space by just changing out a few accessories! ... but I like it just the way is it :)

I spy....

... Ranunculuars!

Noticed them at the market last week, wanting to take them home, but with the mess that is still going on here, I figured I would wait until we can really enjoy them!

So, here are some beautiful images to "hold me over".... check out the bouquet that started it all!

So pretty, delicate and feminine!!

Hope I had a chance to brighten your day!

They call me...

... mellow yellow!    Say hello to my new friend!

We are in desperate need of a new sofa (even though Mr. Wonderful is of a different opinion) and I have my eye on this pretty loud and happy version, I just don't know "if I can do it", it's so far from what I have done before, BUT it is a happy couch, don't you think?

Natasha
PS. I know there is always the possibility of a white slipcover... but after seeing this, it's almost a shame to cover it up!

Bar none....

So, all I want to say with this image is;
Is Monday too early in the week?? :)

I love the Not-to-Serious vibe; m&m's, candy colored ping pong balls and bats... this looks like a fun party! I will be attending an 80th birthday party next Saturday... it's a pool party!
Hmmmm, not exactly sure what to think about that, but I will show up, just so I can let you all know what happened... ;)
