Good morning all!

This is what I wore out and about on my day off work yesterday.

At the moment the weather is this happy medium (finalllly)....

..so I am enjoying being able to lightly layer outfits without being uncomfortable.

When it gets too hot all fashion has to (almost) be put aside as a matter of life or death.

(obviously joking).

A few very exciting things are keeping me super positive atm which I love.

So I bought a pair of OVERALLS months ago from an Op Shop for $1

(cough, $1= hell yeah)

...but they were too short on me in the crotch (camel toe...oh dear)...

And I didn't know what I could do with them so put them in the cupboard and forgot about them.

Found them last night and got some scissors..

...played some David Bowie beats and this was the result.

I love it.

If you have some overalls - def get cutting! Summer love.

What I wore out out yesterday to a Pub Reunion Party.
The weather was gorgeous so it was the perfect day to have some (many) drinks.

Was so great catching up with so many old friends...
Luckily starting early..meant I was in bed early...got a decent sleep in, thank god!

The shorts are the jeans I DIY'd a little while ago HERE.
I am still very smitten with them!

So I finally got around to making some use out of this old pair of Gripp Jeans I NEVER wore!

These babies were originally flared leg, medium/dark tone jeans..and now they are, in my eyes, GLORIOUS.

Inspired by Camilla and Marc shorts I have been lusting over ever since RAFW earlier this year.
This is....

WHAT I DID.

1. I cut the length I wanted...I don't even own material scissors so don't stress if you don't own any either.
2. Without over-thinking where I did it; cut horizontal slashes down the front in different lengths and widths appart (I think the more random here the better)...also did a few on one of the back pockets.
3. Shoved them into the washing machine on a cold cycle. Then left them to dry.
4. Bleach time. I used regular bleach and poured it into a spray bottle ($2 shop styles bottle).
5. Went OUTSIDE (bleach is a stinker ppl) and just sprayed them pretty much all-over and not forgetting to do inside the pockets too.
6. Left to dry outside on the line.
7. Put them into the washing machine about 3 times (on cold cycle again) to make sure the bleach was washed out.

8. Once they were dry, I ran a brush over the frayed bits to rough them up a bit. A cheese grater or similar works too (household items!).
9. TA-DA! Done-zo. (also I will hand wash them from now on to keep them in tact!)

Still contemplating hand sewing the bottoms (folding up)...but not sure!
Can always wear them both ways I guess and undo the stitching when I please.

ANYWAY - I am very happy with how they turned out!
I feel like I have bought a new pair of shorts...fun fun fun.
It def fought off some purchase cravings for a day or two anyway..haha.

New on the Virtual Newsstand

The new issue of Dabble Magazine hit the Virtual Newsstand yesterday, and I just had a chance to look through it last night. I am looking forward to reading their New Orleans feature, but what also jumped out at me was the Industry Profile on India Hicks (page 64)!

After thumbing through the issue, I went digging on their website and found this pretty bedroom ...

I spy a really cool DIY paint job!!
Take a closer look at the bookshelves on the back wall. This reminds me... when in the paint department picking a color and you come across those long pain chips, it's so hard to pick just one shade. Should it be intense and dark, or should it be light and airy? Well, now you don't even have to pick! Why not use all the pretty colors??? And what is even better; you can get away with a test can of paint in each color, saving money AND you do not need to store all those cans of unused paint!! Great design idea, right??

Napkin folding 101

The Easter bunny has a place at the table this year, I think...

If you celebrate the Easter holiday, here is a cute little DIY napkin-folding-tip, that I just think it's the cutest! Below you can find the instructions, have fun setting the table!!

I am also including this cute idea for color, but truthfully, I think this might be too time consuming... Who really has the time to make sure that egg stays put, and that the cute gingham ribbon bow is tied perfectly? You know I would be there tying the bows over and over and over..... NOPE, not this time! :)

I have been sitting on this image for a little while now, but with spring (cleaning?) just around the corner, I figured I would share this simple DIY idea!

Sprucing up your hallway console table has never been easier, and a pop of color goes a
L O N G  way!! This Kelly Green lamp is a perfect accent and with its glossy finish, brightens up the space so well, don't you think? The shade has been modified ever so slightly with a green ribbon, so easy to do! All you need is ribbon, glue gun / tape, a steady hand and voila, the shade has been customized to your space! Great and easy project for the weekend!!

This is the lamp used in the above image, in it's original state, with a smaller shade. You could buy a separate and larger shade, depending on the space you are working with, this shade might be a little too narrow, but if it fits, just work with it the same way.

This vibrant lamp is from Crate & Barrel, the name on of the lamp is Kelly (how appropriate!), you can buy it here, it's even ON SALE at the moment...
