Fifth Holiday Post.
I have been planing a holiday party for The Girls this evening.... Yes, I know it's Tuesday, but since we are all so busy I figured this would be a good day!
Want it to be festive, so I hope everyone shows up in pretty dresses! Are you planning a holiday get-together? Do tell!! I'll be sure to take a few images to share.

First Holiday Post.
For those of us who celebrate the holiday season in warmer weather, I figured I would start with a little unusual Christmas-color inspiration!
Not everything has to include pine.... look how fresh and pretty this little floral arrangement looks; orchid and ornament.... Very subtle way of including the Christmas decorations on the table, don't you think??
... and a few citrus-y colors for the tree, how pretty!
What do you have planned? Tree or no tree? Color(s)?
Do tell!!
TGIF!

No purchase necessary...
... haven't we all heard that line a thousand times??
Well, it's true!! You do not need to spend money to have the luxury of cut flowers, just keep your eyes open (and keep a garden scissor with you at all times, we all do that, right? ;) ), and these beauties could end up on your nightstand....
How fresh and pretty are these Hibiscus?
Love how the duster in the pink Hibiscus, picks up the orange in the other... We only need to look to nature for the perfect color combo!
I am not entirely sure what kind of flower this is (Please do let me know the name if you know), but Anna Sprio stopped at the road side in Australia and did a little cutting herself.....

Color splash
Since I went very neutral yesterday, how a bout a little splash of Suzani color today?
LOVE the idea of framing the beautiful fabrics.....
And if you would like a little color in the bathroom, here is a new towel version. Thinking about purchasing one of these for your home? Check out the Table Tonic store, lots of goodies to choose from!
Have a bright and colorful day,

Is this perfect?
.... so, I was thinking, this is the perfect solution for so many people!!
An ottoman you can throw your legs up on, a soft spot for your feet to rest.... If kids are involved, there are no hard corners, and it's the perfect height!
Further more, the space for the tray, within the tufted ottoman, is so close to perfection... Why didn't anyone thing of this before?? Now your tea wont hit the floor, and your flowers and books will have a spot to sit on!
Do you agree? Great or not-so-great? That's the question of the day!

After the party..
Now that Halloween is over and you have carved out your share of pumpkins, scared your neighbors away, you are probably left with only a few soggy pumpkins, BUT, perhaps you can find one of these gray ones (LOVE the colors of these so much more than the traditional orange ones....!)
....as shown here by the Very Talented Eddie Ross.....
Why not do a pretty arrangement like this? Mum's the word ;)! Also by Eddie Ross, when working for Martha Stewart....
Have fun, experiment a little, and use some unexpected objects as floral containers!

Congratulations!
I want to congratulate Anna Spiro, of Black & Spiro and the Absolutely Beautiful Things Blog, on the wonderful and exciting news;
She has won an Oscar...... !
Well, not exactly, but she has been included in Andrew Martins new book; Interior Design Review, Featuring the Worlds Leading Designers. This book is like "The Oscars for the Interior Design World" according to the Times.
If you are a regular reader of ABT, you will be familiar with Anna's Friday Flowers Posts. I found this image over at her blog earlier today (yes, I know, it's not Friday...) in her trademark colors; Hot Pink, White and Blue, so fresh and pretty, you can't help but get in a good mood :)
Oh... and did I mention she is also featured in the new Vogue Living?? I can't wait to get my hands on that issue, but it's a little slow coming to Florida, so some time in December maybe..... :)
Congratulations Anna, you deserve all the praise and acknowledgement coming to you!!

A few images that inspire!
Following along with Northern Light, you are probably aware that flowers - in all shapes, sizes and colors - are of great inspiration to me...
... and look, even the petals can be candied and eaten! I have not tried this, but the idea is super cool. I have, however, been eating fresh flowers for as long as I can remember; in salads, as decorations on cakes etc.
And these colors... just absolutely YUMMY!!
These image really have nothing to do with each other, yet somehow they all work!
Are you inspired by flowers and their beauty? Do you cook with the petals?

Loving Dahalias
Just a pretty picture today!
While visiting with my sister, we had planned a shopping day (more on that later), when she spotted this fantastic display of fall color! The many bouquets of flowers were displayed in bright red buckets* and the entire display unit was full, making for a huge burst of color.
I just had to snap an image and share with you!

Cottage Garden
THIS is were I have been vacationing, isn't it pretty?
The grounds have the most beautiful flowers, and even though it is early fall here, there are still some late bloomers, as you can see. A small album of the Blue & White flowers from the garden have been uploaded to the Northern Light Blog facebook page, I hope you have a moment to take a look!
Natasha
P.S.
Be sure to "Like" the Northern Light Blog FB page while you are there.... or not, that's up to you :)

Vacation time!!
Hi all, a quick note before I leave for a long vacation!
I have been looking forward to this trip for a while now, even counting down the days......
What more appropriate than a few globes, as I will be traveling from the US to Denmark. Love the old world feel of this globe, perhaps it's the color......
I guess the world is getting smaller, after all :)
I will be back in the end of September, wishing you all a wonderful early fall! Perhaps I will be checking in, perhaps I will post from my vacation, who knows... I have not seen my family in 2 1/2 years, so spending time doing nothing with them will be at the top of the list!! My Mr. Wonderful will be joining me at the end of the vacation, can't wait for that either :)!
Take care!
