After reading in Dr. Nicholas Perricone’s latest book, Dr. Perricone's 7 Secrets to Beauty, Health, and Longevity: The Miracle of Cellular Rejuvenation, that he subscribes to the benefits of non-laser light therapy for skin rejuvenation, I finally broke down and bought myself a Quasar Baby.
I should mention that Dr. Perricone has developed his own version which comes in the form of a mask rather than a small wand which must be moved sequentially over the face and neck for about a half hour. Clever. Not only does this shorten treatment time but also assures even treatment over the entire face and neck.
When I first researched and wrote this article on Quasar Baby, I issued a caution. “Light skin rejuvenation therapies work by wounding tissue beneath the surface and spurring the body’s repair mechanisms into action. The repair process needs time to work. Overstress of the repair mechanisms could cause them to fail entirely or work less effectively.”
I lumped light-emitting diode (LED) herapy, such as Quasar Baby uses, in with laser therapy. If Dr. Perricone is correct, I may have to eat my words. Come back next time to hear Dr. Perricone’s opinion on LED.
