Project No Buy – One Month In

It’s been one whole month since I decided I was going to stop spending any money on beauty products until the 7th of May. The reason for picking that date is that I will be able to visit a CCO then which is a big deal as we don’t have any in Scotland. Now I’ll be honest, I did have some Boots points that got spent but the purchases have gone in a drawer and won’t be opened until the end of the project and seeing as they were free I’m not counting them! The point is I have successfully gone an entire month without spending any money on beauty products. I have enough makeup, skincare and hair care to last me so I’m using as much up as I can in the time allotted.

I originally picked out a few products that I wanted to see the back of for whatever reason. If you want to know why I’m trying to get rid please see my original post here . First up we have the L’Oreal Infallible foundation. It is dead! Last week I went to use it and it spurted out the last of its contents all over my carpet. The bottle is now entirely empty!

The Paco Rabanne Ultraviolet is certainly showing a little progress and I have been using it a lot but we aren’t even near the half way point yet.

Other products which have bitten the dust include the double ended Bourjois eyeliner, Urban Decay lip primer potion and the Max Factor false lash effect mascara. The thing is the products that are done were all the ones that were near the end to start off with so I knew they wouldn’t take long. The rest will probably take me forever though. The Burts Bees lip balm and Clinique sample lipstick are showing good progress. The MAC MSF natural is immortal I swear... it just won’t die.

Are you trying a similar project? How’s it going? x
