Palmitoyl Tripeptide-3

I’ve just begun reading about Palmitoyl Tripeptide-3 and plan to research it more thoroughly. Cosmetic Design News had this to say just last month, “Tripeptide has become an increasingly important ingredient in recent years and [is] proving to be the ingredient of choice for anti-aging products, a fact that is highlighted by some of the most recent launches in the US.”

Here are the basics, which I’ve added to my Cosmeceutical Peptide Glossary.

Palmitoyl Tripeptide-3 (PTri-3, Tradname SYN-Coll) is often referred to as synthetic collagen, because PTri-3 mimics the body's own mechanism to produce this youth-giving substance.

In vitro studies have shown PTri-3 to increase collagen synthesis by 119%. This makes it especially effective for parts of the face and body that have lost skin tissue, for example areas with stretch marks as well as areas with crepey skin such as often forms on the neck and upper arms. Its effect is to plump out the skin from within, similar to Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-3 (PP-3).

It is available in …

The only product I’ve found so far which contains it is Kinerase Pro+Therapy Ultra Rich Night Repair.

Stayed tuned for more on Palmitoyl Tripeptide-3.
