If your new to my blog (welcome!) Sample Sunday is essentially me trying to work my way through the box of samples I’ve accumulated. Every week I pick a sample and give a verdict on whether or not I would purchase the full sized product on the basis of my experience with the sample. Bare Minerals foundations have been on my to try list for a while. I like the idea of buying a powder foundation for the summer to try and help combat my oily nose. Will this be the one? Nope!
Aside from the obvious hilarity of me walking around the flat for 6 hours wearing a foundation that is several shades too dark and orange for me (foundation samples in magazines tend to only come in shades right in the middle of the range) this foundation just didn’t work for my skin. Several of my original fears were alleviated. It wasn’t cakey, it didn’t cling to the dry bits, the coverage was actually pretty decent (I’d say medium). Unfortunately this foundation has a slight sheen to it and whilst this makes it look very natural and glowing my nose doesn’t need any help in the glowing department. It didn’t mattify it from the start so after a couple of hours I looked like I’d dipped my face in a chip pan. The finish did nothing for my large pores either.
If you like a dewy finish and the sheen is something that appeals then this could be for you. It’s very comfortable on the skin and does look very natural. It will cost you £22 for a full size. I personally won’t be buying it although it has piqued my interest in their products. Maybe I’ll get the newer matte version? X
