Sleek Oil Free Créme to Powder Foundation

I was on the market for a matte finish long lasting foundation that wouldn’t disintegrate on my nose in a compact travel friendly form. For £7.30 Sleek give you a rather meagre 9g of foundation that promised to...

“A full coverage smooth concealing foundation. The oil-free emulsion transforms into a flawless and matte powder finish”

The packaging feels a little flimsy but is perfectly functional. The compact has a good sized mirror and the pan section lifts up to reveal a compartment with a sponge tucked away. The fact that the pan lifts up just serves to emphasise how little you get in this. I don’t see it lasting long at all!

As for the product itself it’s just downright weird. I was expecting a cream that would set as a powder but it almost feels like a sticky powder in the pan. This makes it a little difficult to apply. The coverage is very sheer at first though you can build it up a little. It starts off looking ok but after about 4 hours I start to look cakey so I’ve been taking the compact with me to sort my face out again at lunch. Frankly I’d rather not have to bother doing that....

The lasting power doesn’t do it any favours either. When you initially apply it you have a lovely matte finish so the first couple of times I used it I didn’t bother powdering it. This was a mistake. In less than 2 hours it starts to disintegrate on my nose and I look reflective. Powdering it does help it last but just adds to the caking issue. The shade I have is Shell (the lightest) which matches me ok but if you were a MAC 15 or lighter it would probably be too dark. The shade also pulls quite yellow.

Now obviously this is just my opinion and everyone’s skin is different but for me this foundation is a big fat fail.
