Clean & Clear Advantage Fast Action Face Wash

I’ve moaned enough about my problem skin on here. Last month I snapped a little and decided fine, if it wants to behave like a mardy teenager I’ll bloody well treat it like one. Ironically I never had spots as a teenager but my younger siblings were slaves to the likes of Clean & Clear and Clearasil. I guess this is karma in action?

What I wanted was a face wash that would help fight spots but (and this is important) wouldn’t dry the dry bits out and wouldn’t irritate my skin. I do wish my skin would pick one skin type and stick with it but no, it’s got oily bits, dry bits, blemishes and irritation. Fun times! This promised on the back of the bottle to control spots, not strip the skin and yet over time help to control oil production.  That’s a pretty tall order.

It’s a thick cloudy gel without any little scrubby bits. There isn’t any strong scent which is good as overly perfumed products don’t do my skin any favours. I will say this, it did not dry my skin out. Generally anything to do with spot treatment will strip my skin horribly but this was nice and gentle. It wasn’t a miracle worker on spots but I did notice an overall reduction in severity. The bottle lasted around a month with both me and my husband using it and by the end of the month I hadn’t noticed it helping to control oil production at all but to be honest I’m not sure how something can be non drying and oil controlling at the same time.

I cannot for the life of me find this on the Boots or Superdrug websites however most of their products are around the £5 or under mark. You get 150ml so it works out nice and cheap. Whilst it certainly isn’t an incredible product the fact that it manages to fight spots without drying my skin out makes this a winner for me s I’d happily buy it again x
