I’ve complained pretty much constantly about my shiny nose. As a result of the oil slick I find myself using blotting sheets and powder every few hours which means I’m always on the lookout for the next fab compact powder. So many people swear by the MSF naturals so I had to pick myself one up in the Duty Free recently (so this cost me around £15 instead of the usual £18 for 10g of product). I’ve been using this daily for a couple of weeks now and feel fairly confident in giving it a resounding ‘meh’.
This is in the shade Light and it is very, very light. So the colour is a good match for me however they aren’t too pigmented so there is a little bit of wiggle room with the colours. Good points include the finely milled texture which has never once looked cakey on me and the rather nice looking domed design.
This could be a good point or it could be a bad one depending on your opinion. The finish is very ‘natural’ in that it doesn’t completely mattify the skin. It tones down the shine but doesn’t remove it completely which leaves you with more of a ‘glow’ than most powders. If you are concerned that powders leave your skin looking flat and dry then this is definitely a good option.
If however you are like me and really need a matte finish it isn’t quite so fab. It looks great and really natural for about an hour or so then it’s back to looking like someone poured olive oil down my face. I think this is going to the back of the drawer until winter is properly upon us and my skin dries out a bit. One other little negative for me is the lack of a mirror in the compact. Come on MAC, you’re charging us enough for the thing at least give us a mirror!!!
In conclusion if you have normal to dry skin I think this will be a better fit for you than it was for me. I’m going to keep searching. If you have any suggestions for a good mattifying compact powder please do let me know! X
*I bought this myself*
