I just finished a series of blog entries about Thermage, the new non-invasive facelift. I closed by mentioning some cosmeceutical alternatives to a thermal lift, (Avon Clinical ThermaFirm Face Lifting Cream and Olay Regenerist Thermal products).
I’ve been getting more and more confused by the plethora of new “miracle” cosmeceutical ingredients on the market. How many treatment creams and serums can any one person use in a day?! How do you know which ones to pick?
Here’s what I decided. It’s time to make a distinction between anti-aging and truly age-reversing products or ingredients. I’ve viewed topographical (face) maps before and after a month or six weeks of use. The age-reversing results of some ingredients are undeniable.
Up to about age 40 or 45, you only need anti-aging products. I’m talking about broad spectrum sun protection, moisture support if your skin seems drier than in younger days, anti-oxidants to protect against non-UV free radical damage and exfoliants to keep the skin sloughing dead cells at a younger rate.
After this age, you may want to add age-reversing products/ingredients to your skin care regimen. Come back next time for more on age-reversing ingredients and exactly what they do.
